Lion Village was rebuilt after the tsunami as part of relief effort that aimed to provides home to local people that lost houses during the tsunami 2004.
Lion International provided two houses to Naucrates in February 2008, with the intent of continuing the conservation project in the villane, of involving the local community creating a suistainable development programme, of providing environmental education in the local school.
The Environmental education and Visotors center is composed by two houses named Naucrates and Mangrove Action Project: Ban Tau (turtle house) and Ban Bang Ghun Khan (mangrove house).
Ban Tau has two bedrooms for Naucrates staff, one office and one small museum with a gadget corner.
Ban Pa Ghun Khan has three bedrooms for Naucrates staff and volunteers and a common room with books and educational materials available for children and villagers.
The houses have been decorated by volunteers and children of the village. The two houses represents a great contribution for Naucrates organization, which is working toward the conservation of natural resources since many years on the island.
The houses are used as center for lesson to children, for metting with villagers, for training sessions, talks and educational.
