“OBSERVE, EXPERIMENT AND...LEARN”
Although we are aware that the time available for teaching is
limited, Naucrates organization proposes some programmes for
schools. These have the objective of introducing environmental
education to students in order to make them more aware of the
natural world and to stimulate their natural curiosity to enable
them to learn and observe what is surrounding us, to analyze
(and pose questions) and find answers.
A general knowledge of the local area is useful for many
activities.
Lessons in classrooms together with carrying out field
work is a winning combination that allows students to experience and
live as young naturalists – ecologists that collect data and
information, analyse it, then interpret their findings to enable them to
begin understanding how the ecological system where they live works.
Our intention is that they will reach the stage where
they can propose strategies or solutions to solve environmental problems
within their local area.
Our previous experience, working following the above
described methodology, has achieved great results and has involved
teachers proposing projects together in order to reach their scholastic
objectives.
