Conservation project in Thailand

Phra Thong Island, (about 100 km2; 15 km long by 7 km wide), is located about 5 km from the western coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea (9.03-9.17°N, 98.25-98.33°E). It is in Phang-nga province about 200km North from Phuket. Nearest village on the mainland is Kuraburi.

    How to get there?

From Phuket there are several daily buses that run to Kuraburi. We recommend you to take the 8:00 am bus that goes to Chumpon and stops in Kuraburi. Bus ride takes about 3,5 hours and there is a short stop in Takua Pa.

From Bangkok take the night bus to Phuket and get off in Kuraburi. This bus will arrive to Kuraburi about 5 am.

When you arrive to Kuraburi, you need to find your way to Kuraburi Pier. The most usual way is to take a moped, but car transportation is also available.

You need to let us know your arrival time at least 2 days before and so there will be a longtail boat waiting for you when you arrive. The boat trip will take 40-60 minutes to Phra Thong Island.
